OUR BELIEFS

1. The Word of God.

We believe in the scriptures of the Old and New Testament as inspired by God and inerrant in the original writings.[i]

2. The Holy Trinity.

We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons:  The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.[ii]

3. Creation of Man.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that through sin man incurred both spiritual and physical death.  Consequently, man is totally depraved, alienated from God, under His righteous anger, and in need of new birth.[iii]

4. Who Jesus Christ is.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.[iv]

5. The Sacrifice of Jesus.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the representative and substitutionary sacrifice, died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.[v]

6. The Resurrection of Jesus.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His ascension into Heaven, His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate and in His personal return.[vi]

7. The Grace of God.  We believe that by the grace of God, all who in repentance and faith receive the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.[vii]

8. Baptism.

We believe the scriptures teach water baptism for born again believers.[viii]

9. Lifestyle.

We believe the scriptures teach a lifestyle of love and peace for all Christians, pursuing a life of holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.  By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command, “Be Holy for I am Holy.”  Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s will.[ix]

10. The Resurrection of the Body.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just in the everlasting blessedness of those born again, and of the unjust in the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.[x]

11. The Holy Spirit.

We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict, regenerate, seal, indwell, guide into all truth, instruct and empower the believer for life and service.[xi]

12. Christian Example.

We believe that by the power of the Holy Spirit, we shall order our lives according to the Scriptures and we shall endeavor to be a Christian example at all times, to witness to others that they may believe, to preserve the unity of the Spirit, to encourage one another to love and do good works and that “in all things He may have the preeminence.” [xii]

13. The Church.

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with a divine calling for the fulfillment of the great commission.  Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.[xiii]
